چکیده

In the semi-arid region, quality of water for irrigation stands out as a limiting factor expansion ofagriculture. Thus, it is extremely important to search alternatives that minimize effects salt stress onplants. Foliar application salicylic acid among these strategies. this context, objective ofthis study was evaluate gas exchange, photosynthetic pigments, and growth guava function ofirrigation salinity exogenous in post-grafting stage. The experimentwas conducted under greenhouse conditions, randomized block experimental design, 2 × 4 facto rialscheme, corresponding two levels electrical conductivity (0.6 3.2 dS m-1) fourconcentrations (0; 1.2; 2.4 3.6 mM), with three replicates. Irrigation m-1caused reductions transpiration, CO2 assimilation rate, instantaneous use efficiency instantaneouscarboxylation guava, at 150 days after transplanting. Water dSm-1 reduced stem diameter absolute relative rates, well relativewater content, chlorophyll b contents plants. interaction between levelsand concentrations did not influence physiological indices postgraftingphase.

Physiological and biochemical responses of Hypericum perforatum to salt stress and salicylic acid spraying

Salinity is one of the main obstacles to the successful production of agricultural products. Hormonal compounds such as salicylic acid (SA) as plant growth regulators can have different physiological and biochemical effects in plants under salt stress. In present research, the effects of different concentrations of sodium chloride (2, 6 and 10 dS/m) and foliar application of SA (0, 0.25 and ...

Improving Effects of Salicylic Acid on Morphological, Physiological and Biochemical Responses of Salt-imposed Winter Jasmine

To investigate the positive effects of salicylic acid (SA) on morphological and biochemical traits of salinity stress-imposed winter jasmine, an experiment was conducted in a research greenhouse. The experiment was conducted using a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with four levels of salinity stress (2, 4, 6, and 8 dS.m-1) as the first factor and different levels of S...

Influence of salicylic acid pre-treatment on emergence and early seedling growth of cucumber (Cucumis sativus)under salt stress

Salicylic acid (SA) is a common, plant-produced signal molecule that is responsible for inducing tolerance to a number of biotic and abiotic stresses. An experiment was therefore conducted to test whether the application of SA at various concentrations (0, 0.25, 0.50 or 1.0 mM) through a seed-soaking method would protect cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) seedlings subjected to salt stress. Aft...

Effects of Foliar Application of Salicylic Acid on Growth and Physiological Attributes of Cowpea under Water Stress Conditions

The possible alleviating effects of salicylic acid on protection of cowpea (Vigna unguiculata) cv. Parastu under water stress conditions were investigated in the University of Zanjan Agriculture Research Station during 2008. Water stress was imposed by withholding irrigation at 50% flowering (flowering water stress, FWS) and when 50% of the pods grew 2-3cm (pod-formation water stress, PFWS). Sa...

Interaction of nitrogen stress and salicylic acid on the physiological characteristics of borage

Deficiency of nitrogen may lead to decrease in yield and yield potential of crop plants. An experiment was done under glasshouse conditions in order to investigate nitrogen levels and salicylic acid interaction on some physiologic traits of borage (Borago officinials L.). In this experiment various levels of nitrogen (including; 27.5, 55, 110, 220 and 330 mg/L from ammonium nitrate) and salicyl...
